The Lands Council

The Lands Council is a local grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the quality of life in the Inland Northwest. Their work is centered in the inland Columbia River watershed: Eastern Washington, Northeastern Oregon, Northern Idaho and Western Montana.
Founded in 1983 by John Osborn, a Spokane physician, and incorporated in 1989, The Lands Council has emerged as the leading conservation voice in the Inland Pacific Northwest. The Council, by its actions, has demonstrated that it is a dedicated and strong advocate for protecting the environment.
Says Mike Petersen, Executive Director, "The Lands Council has an impressive track record of success, I like being part of an organization that is such a strong advocate for forests and rivers."
